Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation

A lot of times I’m all about using a light coverage foundation.  My skin is pretty clear and I don’t have a ton of things to cover up, so it usually seems smarter to go with the least amount of makeup I need.  But then other times, like right now, I haven’t been sleeping much, I’m breaking out a little, AND I accidentally scratched the tip of my nose and it scabbed over, so I look a little like Rudolph’s accident prone sister.  It’s not great.  These are the times that I need more coverage and right now, that means turning to Clinique‘s Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer.

This new foundation comes with a unique doe foot applicator (I’ve never seen a foundation with one before – how has this not happened already?) that lets you apply the foundation directly to your face before blending it with a sponge, brush or your fingers.  The formula itself is full-coverage; it’s not heavy or mask-like, but definitely needs to be blended well so it doesn’t look obvious on your skin.  (It has a special polymer formula that forms a flexible film that moves with your skin and dries slowly for easy blending).  But once it’s on and blended, it covers a multitude of sins without looking cake-y and allows you to skip the extra step of concealer.  (You can also use it as just a spot concealer too if you want – the applicator makes that easy.)  I also love that it’s great for sensitive skin; it’s ophthalmologist tested, allergy tested, and 100 percent fragrance free, so even those of you who have reactions to certain foundations should hopefully be fine with this one.  All in all, it’s a great addition to my foundation wardrobe and definitely a new obsession you should check out as well.
