Cara Delevingne. Jacquelyn Jablonski. Brooke Shields. Lily Collins. All of them have big, bold and — most importantly — flattering brows. While colorful, accessorized brows are taking center stage in high fashion this summer, it seems most people are rocking the natural, full-brow look off the runway. And why not? Full brows are easy to maintain (grow, baby, grow!), and they give you reason to try Eylure London, my favorite brow makeup products from across the pond.
While Eylure is known for false lashes (founders David and Eric Aylott created their own brand of false lashes back in 1947), their brow makeup collection looks and feels totally premium without the hefty price tags. I’ve been using Eylure Brow Tame & Define Wax to help shape my unruly hairs into a neat arch with a soft, matte finish. This particular wax is clear and comes in an easy-to-use jumbo crayon form; no painting or combing required. It’s also enriched with Rosemary Oil and Sweet Almond Oil to help nourish and protect the hair, and encourage hair growth. (Jury’s still out on that one but I hope it works!)
The wax is just fine for grooming if you have naturally thick, full brows, but if you don’t, the Eylure Brow Pencil is great for filling in those little bald spots. I use the wax first, then I use the pencil to sketch fine “hairs.” Lastly, I smooth my ring finger over my brows to blend it all together. There’s a brow comb on the other end if you want that “separated look.” The pencil is waterproof and comes in four colors: dark brown, mid brown, blonde and black. (Rule of thumb from many makeup artists: always choose a shade or two lighter than your natural hair color.)
Finally, if I am going all-out vintage with bold, drawn-on brows, there’s an Eylure Brow Ink that makes the job practically foolproof. It looks like a double-ended marker with a pointy brush side (great for detailing) and an angled tip side (great for edges like your inner brow corners). The look is quite intense but at night, it makes an impact.
