Ruffles with Rose
LBD’s are a staple in my closet, but I like to “refresh” my collection with a new piece every now and then. With spring finally around the corner, I really wanted to find a lighter piece that I could take into warmer weather. Enter this Chiffon Ruffle Dress with Slip by Susie Rose.
I love the ruffles along the V-neckline and the smock detailing that nips at the waist. You can easily add a belt over the dress, and lightness of the chiffon is perfect for warm weather. Best of all…it’s only $16! The price is so amazing that you could buy this and a pair of shoes or an amazing necklace to go with it — and what girl wouldn’t love that?
Available at Walmart.com or your local Walmart stores.
Insider’s Obsessions: Becki Singer

Becki Singer followed her obsession with style and design to the world wide web, where she writes a blog called ShoppingsMyCardio. She started ShoppingsMyCardio in 2006 as a way for her to share her favorite retail finds, trends, sales and obsessions with everyone who stops by. (She previously was a contributing editor at TDO, so we know she has style and impeccable taste! She’s now also a freelance writer for media outlets such as design*sponge and Mankind Magazine.) Let’s find out what she’s obsessing over this month! (more…)
Warm Up Your Assets
I recently moved to Northern California, and I can definitely say that it’s colder and less sunny than Los Angeles. That’s why I am so thankful that I have a nice stock of tights from Love Assets by Sara Blakely (a sister brand to Spanx).
I never really thought about textured tights but now don’t know how I lived without them! I tend to wear a lot of solid colors, and the Terrific Textured Tights add some interest and break up the monotony of the color blocks. My favorite print is the Basketweave, which is so pretty and fun, but still appropriate for the workplace. Better yet…these tights do slenderize and smooth in all the right places, without making you feel uncomfortable. I can’t get enough and until the weather truly warms up, you can bet I’ll be wearing these with my skirts and dresses.
Retails for $16. Available at Target.com and LoveAssets.com.

Soften Up Those Studs
Since it’s still so chilly, I should probably still be stocking up on sweaters and cozy knits. But what I really want is warm weather clothing! This Ecote Chiffon Studded Tank from Urban Outfitters is definitely on my list.
Cut slightly loose, this tank made from airy silk chiffon skims the body to create a relaxed yet sexy silhouette. There’s gorgeous stud detailing on the front, which gives the top some interest and toughens up an otherwise sweet, girly tank. I want to wear this with a pair of trousers and sandals (think Jennifer Aniston on a casual day), but think it could just be worn under skinny jeans, boots and a boyfriend blazer for now!
Retails for $58 at UrbanOutfitters.com.
Casa di Francesca
Having recently moved, I always find that home fragrance is an easy way to make an apartment feel a little bit more like mine, even though there are boxes that need to be unpacked. When I opened the diffuser by Casa di Francesca, I immediately felt a sense of luxury and comfort.
From their collection of scents, I tried Pure Pear. The scent captures the scent of lush white pear blossoms and the ripening fruit; in my apartment, it lends a sweet but also crisp and clean scent. The overall feeling is very sweet and rustic, and it makes me feel instantly relaxed…like taking a deep breath and going “ahhh.” What could make you feel more at home than that?

Keith Haring by the House of Field

By Liz Anthony
The Story: “A trip to another reality. A tribal oneness of purpose: to lose ourselves in dance under the musical spell of DJ Larry Levan.”
The Celebration: “The coming together of everyone, to relive and share the experience and to provide the experience of those who were there at the time.”
The Collection: “To pay homage to our friend Keith and to keep his name alive among the young who most understands him.” ~ Patricia Field, February 11, 2010
The event for the “Paradise Garage” collection by the House of Field was certainly a throw-back to late nights/early mornings at Studio 54. Good Units served as the perfect raw space to showcase Patricia Field’s latest designs in collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation. Complete with lightshow and dancing underwear-clad models the presentation was fun and flirtatious. The Mannequins were displayed wearing bouffant wigs, daring ensembles and donned custom jewelry by nOir. My favorite look was modeled on a glamorous mannequin dangling from the ceiling wearing a hot pink wig. It featured a sparkling sequin one-shoulder dress cut just below the breast and included a matching sequin pasty – a far cry from the typical Fashion Week look. The colors were vivid, the prints were loud and the company delightfully eccentric. (more…)
