Laura DeLuisa LaRocca is a force of nature in the world of beauty.  You probably know her as one of the founders of DuWop Cosmetics, and we recently introduced you to her new skincare line called Rocca Skincare. With her love of beauty stemming from her days as a Hollywood hairstylist, she honed in on her entrepreneurial instincts and founded DuWop, which is now a $10 million dollar brand with a cult following; she recently handed the DuWop reins over to someone new, for a fresh voice and to grow the brand even more.  When Laura was faced with total kidney failure not too long ago, she was introduced to the natural healing properties of 24K Gold.  With her experience, she was inspired to create a natural line that utilized the power of gold and Rocca Skincare was born. Jennifer Behr is famous in the beauty and fashion world for her stunning line of hair accessories. You’ve seen them in practically every magazine and on countess celebrities.  What you probably didn’t know is that Jennifer honed her skills stitching custom headpieces at a tiny custom millinery shop in the suburbs of Baltimore after getting her college degree in sculpture and art history. Eventually, Jennifer was recruited to design the hair accessory collection for Frederic Fekkai, who at the time was in partnership with Chanel. Later, when the line was discontinued, a buyer at Bergdorf Goodman told her to start her own line and would buy her pieces sight unseen…and that’s how the Jennifer Behr line began! Jennifer is “inspired by the richness of silks, feathers, stones, pythons and leathers,” in her quest to create elegant and vibrant pieces, which are all produced by hand in her Brooklyn studio. Matt Bernson is a fantastic shoe designer and his company story is quite amazing. While working in his family’s construction business, Bernson discovered a pair of ornately decorated sandals during a trip to India, which inspired his career as an shoe designer. With his entrepreneurial spirit, Matt created custom hardware and special leathers, including the flexible and durable “Luxeflex Leather Sole” - unique only to Matt Bernson shoes. Each shoe is hand cut and sewn; lasted uppers are adorned with metallic piping, complex hardware and exotic touches, while the vegetable dyed hand-waxed insoles are detailed with leather stitching and rivet details. The results are beautifully constructed, comfortable shoes that have fans in women like Sarah Jessica Parker, Gemma Ward, Cindy Crawford…and us! Kara Janx is a South African-born, New York-based designer that you may well know from the second season of Project Runway. Kara is known for using pops of color along with flattering silhouettes in her collections. Some of her bestselling pieces are her amazing kimono dresses and silk convertible wrap skirt/ dresses. Overall, her entire line is fresh, fun and fabulous with truly obsession-worthy collections every season! Valérie Delafosse is the head designer of ERES, one of our favorite luxury lingerie and swimwear brands.  After studying under fashion greats such as Azzedine Alaïa, Claude Montana and Thierry Mugler, Delafosse began her career in lingerie design by founding Princesse Tam Tam with two friends. Since then, Delafosse has worked for numerous lingerie and swimwear brands such as Dior, Cacharel, Gap Body and Chloe, before joining ERES as head designer in 2006. As the Founder and Creative Director of Tocca, Edoardo Mantelli has a natural knack for the whimsical, luxurious and romantic.  We personally have always been fans of the feminine, beautifully-made clothing, and we are super, super obsessed with all Tocca scents. When you’re talking about retail boutiques, Lisa Kline is one of the first names that comes to mind. Undoubtedly a leader and innovator, she led the L.A. shopping revolution that is Robertson Boulevard. She helped transform it into one of the hippest shopping streets by picking it as the location of her first Lisa Kline Boutique in 1995. By handpicking much of the merchandise, her devotion and love for clothing is clearly translated whenever you step into one of her boutiques, as well as online. You’ll catch celebrities like Liv Tyler, Jessica Biel, and Eva Longoria shopping regularly at her store…and paparazzi not too far behind.
